Junk we couldn’t fit anywhere else… If your question isn’t answered here, please call Nancy Goodnight at (254) 405-2518 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org. If she’s not running, she’ll answer…
Is the 5K scheduled for Saturday the 25th or Sunday the 26th
The 5K is scheduled for Saturday the 25th, the same day as the Firetruck Pull.
Is there an early start time for those of us who like to take it slow?
We have an unofficial early start at 5:30 a.m. Please be aware that you are running/walking at your own risk beyond the course hours of 7:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m. You also will not be eligible for awards, but rest assured I will be at the finish line with your medal and your margarita. No worries there-
P.S. Don’t forget to hill train:)
Are bib transfers allowed?
So you wanna gift your bib to a friend? We will allow this online for an irritation fee of $25.00 until January 15, 2014. After that, no transfers are allowed… so get your social calendar in order. If it doesn’t work out, then be satisfied you have donated money to a cause that saves lives, the National Marrow Donor Program.
Can I change races?
Yes. One more beauty of a small race! We can most likely accommodate you. We understand your training and injury level affect your race choice (been there, done that). You may change races free of charge till December 21, 2013. After that you will need to complete an online process for a $20.00 fee until January 22, 2014. You may change races at the expo, but the fee is then $25.00. NO RACE CHANGES ON RACE DAY, as Nancy and Debbie cannot handle the stress. We are delicate this way.
Can I get a refund?
“Stuff Happens”. We know this. Although we clearly state we have a nonrefundable race, there is an option to purchase a sort of trip/race insurance. For a $10 fee, we will hold your registration until the following year, no questions asked. So if it’s an injury (ITB is cruel), a flight delay, or your brother simply not being aware of your all-important race schedule so he plans his wedding that day (I mean, seriously???), we will defer you. But you still have to hill train….
Can I wear headphones?
Yes. We allow them but ask that you use them wisely. You need to be aware of traffic, directions, and beer availability on the course. These things are critical. We also ask that you include U2 and the Talking Heads in your playlist. You should seriously avoid Justin Bieber. Just sayin’.
What do you use for timing?
Your timing device is disposable and attached to your bib. Just make sure you wear it on the front or risk looking like an amateur… If you miss this one, no worries. We promise to only make fun of you when you are not looking.
Additionally, all relay members must touch each other to hand off the timing system. You alone should decide how to do it based on your personal relationship with your relay team members. High five, handshake, kiss, or something we cannot say online. Only you know how well you know your teammates…
Where do I get my finisher’s swag?
At the finish line. Wear it with pride.
Do I need my ID?
Yes. If you plan to drink the kool-aid (the adult kind that is), please bring your photo ID. Everyone looks old after running 26.2 miles of hills, so we have to be sure.
Can my wife / girlfriend / Cousin Vinny eat at the afterparty?
Yes. However, if athletic supporters wish to partake, tickets are available for purchase to the Finishers Beer Garden for $10 per person. This is necessary to help cover our costs and put more people on the Registry. And quite honestly, it’s a bargain!
How can my organization participate in the KIDS Marathon?
Yes, you can help build/mentor a team as well as sponsor kids who cannot afford the $10 fee. These are the very kids who benefit the most from our program. Let’s work together to make every child a Miracle Match Kid, regardless of the socioeconomic status. Call Nancy Goodnight at (254) 405-2518 or e-mail email@example.com
Where can I get pictures of me and my team at the Miracle Match?
Go to the Photo Wolfe Team’s site and click on the 2013 Miracle Match Marathon event link.
